And how to react to it?

I'm not a guy but in silly ass movies you're suppose to make a move.

With women, they flip their hair and ask about yourself (not all the time but more times than their friends or family). They may just be wanting to vent or make friends. I think however it's when they start touching you, since I know I've been hit on, you start realizing. They touch your arm and make intense eye contact that leaves you either scared or willing. But be careful, don't take this as a "I want you thing". Try to be "like a friend" or understading and let them lead you on. This is however noway an expert advice. Many many people would disagree with me. Be very careful only because many of us aspies tend to take love or "lust" a little too serious.

I react by blanking them. I find it very childish the way most of them flirt, like i'm stuck on a planet full of hormonal 12 year olds. ¬_¬

My main problem has been knowing how to tell if they are "serious" in flirting. Some just do it because they always do it. Habit. I make mistakes on this ALL THE FREAKING TIME. ACK!

Sincerely,
Matt

They're usually trying to trick the guy into reacting to them in some way.

Physical contact seems to be the only signal I can read. If they grab your arm or shoulder it's obvious that they like you. However, the next thing you need to figure out is whether you are friend zoned or not because girls will often give hugs to their male friends.

Well, I don't mind hugs(anymore) myself. My problem with females is when they play hard to get. This is the behavior that just confuses me no end. I always thought "No means NO" but that isn't true with all women. Some like to be chased. My Ex was this way. I could feel her emotions too, but her behavior was contradictory.
What the heck should I have done?!

Matt

Blanking them is good since that's what they probably do to guys when it's the other way around.

Hair twirling, head tilting, leaning forward in conversation, touching.

Head tilting? Seriously?

I would really like to know what it is that I do that gets interpreted as flirting, so I can (if possible) stop doing it.

All of those body movements can be easilytaken out of context as flirting.

Here's an article from Time magazine called 'Why We Flirt' that's geared toward both men and women:

Sometimes I can tell by their body language. The hard bit is knowing what to do about it!
