Apparently this is indicative of the calibre of flesh and articulate bone being flaunted on Guardian dating. Bodes well for the aesthetically challenged among us doesnt it.
Ive noticed that dating sites - both the NSFW and SFW kind - tend to do this. While the majority of their clientele dont look like theyve just climbed down from the Pantheon of the Greek gods the adverts show us images of people who probably have the LEAST trouible attracting potential mates.
Noone said that advertising was honest however

Whilst using the dating sites I was always very suspicious of the pictures. Think of it this way, if you see a vision of loveliness in a dating profile then ask yourself why they need a dating site in the first place. A lot of the female profiles on OK Cupid use pictures taken from porn sites and when you add the strange English the whole thing screams 'STAY AWAY'.
I was on various dating sites for four years and everyone I met had issues of some sort. The worst was a rather attractive blonde who also had a criminal record, links with the local mafia and a shotgun she called Betsy. Her picture was perfect as well.
