I have just realised that I am NEVER going to get a long term boyfriend. And every one who says "Don't worry the right person will come along eventually" just pisses me off!

Okay. Mini-rant, I know. But all this sexual politics just sucks.

It gets me angry too. But I think I might have found someone...

Whats the big deal about getting a partner? I was like you guys until I actually got one. Trust me, the build up of expectations really ruins it. You obsess over it until it becomes perfect in your mind and everything you needed. 'My relationship will work forever, I just know I can do it, it'll be so great' and so on. Trust me, it seldom lives up to the ideal. Though I suppose the grass is always greener...

There's a Green Line for me, out there. I just have to wait patiently at my Bus Stop.

Just remember...misery loves company.

I'd have to second Mitch8817's thoughts on this one.

Ping-Machine, what age are you? I ask because I didn't meet someone suitable to marry until I was 31(! !) It's difficult to meet people who understand we ASpies are a bit different. I went through High School, and College without a girlfriend. My mother thought I was ashamed of her, and wouldn't bring my girlfriend home to meet her (! !!???) So give us some more details, like age, how long you've known you're an ASpie, how your dating life has gone thus far, etc.

without trying to sound like a topic hijack. People always assure me that somone will come along eventually, it goes not help me, because there appears to be such a lack of understanding towards AS people. If i ever get someone, i would feel better, because perhaps ii have achieved some understanding.

Well, then Topher, how about someone saying 'you can always re-invent yourself' ??? You can always work to change those behaviors/attitudes that make NT women run the other direstion. I used to dress in the oddest way. I would go to those stores that carry trade-in clothing, and look for shirts and pants that had an antique look. I loved them, but I looked like I'd just walked out of a time machine. It totally turned the girls off. But a friend finally told me that I needed to change this behavior, and 'get with it', so I did. It didn't work immediately, but when I met my wife-to-be, at least I had a bit of a fashion sense.

Lonliness is a hard thing for a lot of people to handle.

Don't get caught in a trap of meeting someone and accepting when they treat you badly just because "At least it's someone." I've been through this lesson. It's painful. It cost me many years. So I keep searching and hoping when I find someone that meets all of my criteria, that I meet theirs as well.

An intersting idea, but i am who i am, and i don't want to change myself just so i can fit in, it's the world which has a problem with me, and i don;t see why i should change just because i have AS. The world needs to accept who we are and not judge us. It's something i don't think we should be forced to do, it's not our fault we have quirks or strange preferences. we are people who like it, and that should be enough.

There is no hope. The whole "sexual politics" is a complete load of BS. I too hate this f*****g life. My brother took my knife away and it is the key for me to get out of this existence that does not want me. My emotional and sexual appetite are starving but people keep getting in my way and putting up obstacles. I hate people. I blame all of them for taking my hope away from me.
