Just wondering for people who are single here. But how often do you look at other peoples facebook profiles and find that they are in a relationship with someone and felt lonely? This happens to me countless times which is quite irritating, even if you have a crush on them.

Every couple of months I get this sudden feeling that I -need- to find a girlfriend, I feel really lonely for an evening and make plans on how to start finding one the next day. But the next day I'll have my nice "meh" feeling back :).

Yes I feel pathetic and feel very depressed going to places like the mall or bookstore and see people there with others having fun with another person and knowing that no one wants to be with me-its a harsh feeling and why should I subject myself to that bad feeling.

The videos are nice - and depressing - except the third one. It went along fine till it started forcing religion down my throat. I stopped it right away.

I am a solitary, introverted hermit. I don't usually feel lonelyness, but it does occasionally hit. I don't make things worse by playing voyeur on FB or other general social sites, and I don't have any accounts at any general social sites. WP and Dear Abby are enough for me. WP is a big help, as it lets me connect with others as much or as little as I want, when I want, and people here understand my being Aspie, as many others here are also Aspies or have other related disorders. Even the NTs here are here because they have friends or relatives on the spectrum. I think WP has provided me with a social outlet that is suitable for my needs.

I hope it helps you, too, but if you aren't as much of a hermit as I am, you are likely to still want more in person socializing. Here are some suggestions that might help:

- Exercise. It generates mood boosting endorphins.

- Read funny stories and watch funny shows. Humor also generates endorphins.

- Eat healthy, and enough of it. A healthier diet will boost your immune system and is also good for your mind. Skimping on amount of food leads to depression, crankiness, and being more prone to get sick.

- Get enough rest. Being tired leads to depression, crankiness, and being more prone to get sick, too.

- Listen to and/or play music. This is mood boosting.

- Take courses, either in person, or online. Some of the online ones are free. The in person ones are a good way to meet people.

- Volunteer. There are people worse off than we are, who would really appreciate the help. It's also a good way to meet people, and boost your self image and mood.

- Take up a hobby or join a club. These are good ways to meet people who share your interests.

- Get involved in community activities. Attend town meetings, events at local libraries and other local organizations. Attend local sporting events, fairs, and art shows. Attend and/or participate in local theater groups. Attend events held at local houses of worship. These are all great ways to meet people and boost your self image and mood.

Hope all that helps, and remember, you do have friends here at WP! :D

Lonely enough to log in to WP, but not lonely enough to hire a hooker.

if you read the manga or book his delusions can from drug use, I feel like a real life exsp of satou I've had trips that were the exact same way. well not the talking furniture the delusions and conspiracies I recommend you read the novel it was amazing! the romance between Satou and Misaki was so adorable in it.
I also read that the author of the novel is a neet too and is pretty much living off royalties from his novel.

I get very lonely, and indeed, it does suck when you see people get into relationships in your facebook news feed. Especially if you have a crush on her.

I do feel somewhat pathetic going out alone these days, and seeing couples everywhere. I'm 30 now (my bday was last week) and I feel like the clock is ticking for me (I would like a relationship, and kids one day).

About sums it up.

I don't have Facebook, and everyone I know is a loser like me without a girlfriend. For real, I had one friend who got married and he never ever talks to me at all anymore. So I and all my friends are foreveralones.

I used to allow feeling lonely to become the core of my being, and then wreck everything else.

Stupidity.

As if the world is going to reply to some sense of entitlement for paying homage to lonelyness in such manner. A lifetime of false starts and failed careers because of it.

Funny thing is, no matter how you feel, nothing changes because of that.

But what is the opposite of the lonelyness?

I know.

It's wishing you were alone.

Don't give it power. Get on with your life.

I tend to feel like Satou all the time minus the delusions of talking furniture and such.

Not that lonely lately.
I have been keeping myself busy doing new things whenever possible and at the moment it seems to be keeping the loneliness at bay(met new people, they like having me around...)
I know I dont have a partner and what I have is nowhere near what other people have(my last meal with a lady involved someone older than my mother that was just concerned for my safety(its a long story and there really isnt that much to it)) but at the moment its enough to make me feel like Im making some improvements and keep bad thoughts away

pretty often, unfortuneately, it's okay for women to need or want a boyfriend for validation, to feel better about themselves, but not the other way around
