So I've been giving online dating another chance, and recently been on pof alot. I have been looking at womens' profiles and I see ages such as 23 24 25 26. I just looked at a 24 yr old and said wow that is old, but she is only one year older than me. It just feels odd that the girls in my pool of fish are that old. I also see descriptions on these girls' pages saying they are preschool teachers, or have this profession(not job but profession) or that, and I find it mind-blowing that girls MY age have professions. Really puts into perspective how much of a loser I am. I may be decent looking, funny, and a college graduate, but I can't hold a job and my driving is awful.

Anyone else understand what I'm talking about here lol?

Can't believe I'm 30 (turned 30 on the 30th of August this year, so quite recently). 23 seems very young to me now. Don't worry, you're still young. You've so much time left to find someone. My chances are almost nil, now.

Well I meant I dont see myself having a profession anytime soon but yah I also worry about finding someone. At 30 women still arent old and haggy so you still have a shot at a nice looking woman, and women are always breaking up/getting divorced from men so you still have a shot. I would not tell them you are a virgin(which it sounds like you are?)

Yeah, I am.

I wouldn't panic yet. I don't have a profession either. I'm a qualified teacher, and was teaching at a school last year, but work is very thin on the ground in that industry at the moment, here. So I'm currently unemployed, and have been for three months. It can be hard for Aspies to get jobs.

As for finding someone, it's not completely too late, but my optimism is running out. As for you, you still have plenty of time for that. Get educated first, get a decent job, and then worry about finding someone.

I only got my AS diagnosis a few years ago, at 25, but it explained a lot

first time gettig married not first time in a relationship or kissing someone.
Also I'd rather have noone than have my first time be with a woman past her prie(no offense just saying how I feel)

to adam- even though you are unnemployed now, you historically have been able to hold a career as a teacher down. I respect that as it is different than my problem. I have not been able to hold a career down.

Uhhhh... You may find that a woman in her fifties is quite a bit more appealing when you yourself are in your fifties. It might be helpful to be open to the idea that your tastes and interests may change as you grow up.

I cannot believe I am 22. I turned 22 at September 3. And I actually feel incredibly old.

You'll really feel old when a president that's in your age group is elected. I'm 48, Obama is 51. This is the first time since I have been grown, that we have had a president that wasn't at the age to be the dad of a friend of mine.

It also makes you feel old when you go to the hospital and they give you a doctor that is decades younger than you and you call him "sweetie" instead of "sir" and think to yourself "I wonder if I can for a grown up doctor".

I'm going to feel ancient when they eventually elect a president that is younger than me.

I can't believe I'm going to be 87 in about 40 years... Wait, no... Actually I can believe it. I've done the math and it seems to be believable.

I'm almost 33! and the scary thing is half the time I don't 'feel' a day over 25 on many levels.

Also yeah, I can relate to having a little bit of shock when I'm looking at dating in the early to mid-30's range and realizing that's the new appropriate for where I'm at (mid and late 20's are fine as well but that seems like, as I mature psychologically its a shrinking window as well).

My birthday was August 30, too, only I turned 24.

It is mindblowing, wtfid. I know 18 year olds who have office jobs, but all I could swing, even with my high IQ, is being a bagger at a crappy grocery store.

I'll be 22 the Saturday before Election Day (United States). I haven't given up hope at all. Enthusiasm keeps me going.
