After responding to a thread in here where a woman complained about "emotionally stunted narcissist" men, I found this article about women in the movies:

I see what this writer means about women in movies being portrayed as "more together" than the men, and that their craziness comes from a lack of "good men". Though reading it, I'm struck by the way in which most, if not all, of these stunted women are immature in very stereotypically girlish ways. They are vain, gold-digging, and hypersocial.

What is still mostly absent from movies, and to some degree real life, is the "vaginated and boobed little boy" type who thinks her skills/talents are all that, who's into video games, who is in search of a replacement mom who will shower her with warmth and love, who doesn't care about her appearance, etc. Even the lesbian or bisexual women in movies tend not to be like that. I know there's Amy in The Big Bang Theory, but she's basically alone, it seems. Now, I rarely watch TV and movies, so maybe there are some I don't know about, but what do you guys think?

Julia Stiles tends to play characters similar to what you describe in the last paragraph, though not to that extreme. She's quite masculine in appearance, voice, and the personality of a lot of her characters.
