geek to geek.com,

more like how you would meet a cute gamer girl on a game console. i don't see the pinpoint of finding a internet geek to mess with online and offline. to scary in my opinion.

IMHO some women will pretend to be geeky just because it's "in" and guys are going after the whole "nerdygrrl" thing.

No kidding! I saw a couple profiles where she was adamant she HATED science fiction, fantasy, video games, science... in fact, there was nothing geeky about her at all!

Girls that are very-casual video game players often pretend to be "hardcore gamers".

Here is another one I just found when googling after becoming interested in this thread:

nerdpassions.com

It's free. There were lots of paying ones I found, but that one is actually free to use.

Then I found another one called Geekdate.co.uk

(sorry for long random hijack):

I clicked on the Terms and Conditions to try and find out whether Geekdate.co.uk was free or not, and was highly amused to read them.

I have a feeling the Terms and Conditions for Geekdate.co.uk were written by a geek, who is expecting the worse from his fellow geeks when they sign up to his site.

Quote:
As a condition of your use of this Web Site you agree that you will not:
reverse engineer or decompile (whether in whole or in part) any software available through the Web Site

Darn! And there I was hoping I could reverse engineer things. Oh well. Better sign up somewhere else.

Here's another startling clause:

Quote:
Disclaimer and Limitations of Liability

GeekDate does not exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury

8O

Death????

*Gulp*

Er, right. OK. I guess I definitely won't be joining that website, then! 1. I'm not allowed to reverse engineer it, and 2. it seems it might kill me. 8O

Seriously. Those T&Cs have to be the geekiest ones I've ever read. They are so thorough that they almost look like they could have been written by me.

nerdpassion.com looks like another site i know. oh well dating sites suck. that's funny geektogeek.com might kill you. wow. i think they mean't the people on the site. not the website. but also why would you want to reverse engineering on a website. is that why the dating sites get ret*d with no purpose in joining?

Most of the people on this site have not been on in over half a year.

Or they look horrid.

it's pretty obvious. since most of us look at this site for advice and reasoning to problems or just internet research for other ideas.

I really have no idea. It says death or personal injury resulting from its negligence:

Quote:
GeekDate does not exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury resulting from its negligence or any other liability which may not by applicable law be excluded or limited.

What on earth that is supposed to mean is left to the imagination.

I just find it all rather hilarious because as I said it's exactly the sort of thing I would have written myself. Whoever wrote it seems to have worked out every possible thing that could go wrong, and then either 1. forbid it or 2. claim it won't be their fault if it does ever happen. :thumleft:

It says they're apparently a product of Splut Ltd, who also own UKDating.com, so I checked UKDating.com's terms and conditions, and they are exactly the same. No reverse engineering allowed there, either, and no liability for death or personal injury:

Quote:
UKDating does not exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury resulting from its negligence or any other liability which may not by applicable law be excluded or limited.

Oh well, at least I've now had a good laugh for today!

What on earth that is supposed to mean is left to the imagination. quote written by plodder.

are you talking about my quote i have at the bottom of my posts? well it means there is no real reality to life since it's imagination in our brain cortex memory core. i do have that shot in some sort of my brain.

No no, I wasn't talking about anything you said, I was talking about the thing I quoted from the Geeky dating website, where they say they accept no liability for the death of their users. Since they do not elaborate on how exactly they are expecting their users to die as a result of using their website, the mind boggles, and we will just have to figure it out using our imaginations. That was what I was trying to say. :)
