Since this question is asked so often without any answer beyond speculation - how about a poll?

Discuss! Have fun! Try not to claw at each other TOO much... I only have a small first-aid kit here. ;)

Easy to get dates. Hard to get dates with decent men. Meaning... most just want one thing. And it's not my money.

dates are all over my calendar, so i always know where they are. [/aspiemode]

for me, the problem isn't that i cant get women to agree to a date; i just cant seem to get myself to ask for one. i cant for the life of me detect interest in a woman, and even if it is spelled out for me, i wont know how to escalate into a 'wanna meet up again?' let alone something more...

Dates are super easy to get.

Finding a decent man that I would actually want to date? Like stumbling accross nuggets of gold! - I've found 2 in my life.

Actually getting an LTR with a decent man? Yeah that is probably like stumbling over diamonds in the middle of the park - happens very, very, very rarely, like once before.

I voted MALE - so-so, I get dates once in a while

it would have been more accurate bluemax if you've used ranges of numbers.

Like number of dates per year or per month.

Because a woman who's getting like 10 dates a year might consider herself having hard time getting dates if she compares herself with other women seeking dates - while a man getting the same number might feel is getting them easily.

another question is: what do people consider dates to be anyways?
so for a date to count you have to go out to dinner?
going to the movies?
do you have to ask ''let go on a date'' or can ''let hangout'' count
and seem that some women here will say ''they went on one date, and didn't work out''
but is really a ''date'', so If I had dinner once with a girl, would that count as a date.
so the two girls I've been hanging out with the last couple of weeks, does that count
as a date.

what about guys who going on these ''dates'' with their quasi girlfriends (friendzone)
does that count as a date

so a woman mets a guys online, and plan to met for dinner and she mets the guys
and the guys a complete weirdo, and dates is a disaster does that count as a date.

or do dates have to be plan. Let say you met a girl or guy at a resturant. you just know the time they are there.
so without plan you met them at their usual time, so would that count as a date. (no pre plan)

let say you meet a guy or girl for a date but half way threw the date. the guy or girl become means and you lose interest does that count as a date

does dates only count if the person agree to be your bf or gf

I wonder if I got this right:
a women goes on one date with a jerk and she count that as a ''date''
a man goes on one date with a crazy woman and he does not count that as date

I think women have a very liberal definition of what count as a date
where men have a more conserative definition of what count as a date

for women, as long as they just show up to the date, that counts(no matter how bad it was)
but for men, if a date is a disaster then it does not count.

I may be wrong about this. But this is what I notice.

I get women to laugh on okcupid, but then there is nothing further to go on.

Thursday at the meetup.com group meeting, there were 2 women left and then me, and the one that I already knew was bouncing around on the other side of the table, which came to face me. I had nothing to say.

Even when the 2 of us walked back to the car I tried to explain where I was parking, because it was free vs her that parked at the normal bay and before I could think of saying that I could walk with her. She ran off. :|

I guess I shouldn't have paid the bill.

A date is an activity that you go to together at a specific time and place. That's my view. What happens on the date, doesn't relate to the count.

Actually, I'd prefer to leave it as it is because what feels like "a lot" to me might me "almost nothing" to you, etc. Personal satisfaction is important here... are you happy with the attention you're getting? Not?

I voted "so-so"... I have the occasional offer but not often from someone I'm also interested in.

I would have liked to see a more objective poll that shows how frequent males vs females get dates here.
