It was either Engineering or Medicine, and an MSEE degree is quicker and cheaper than the med school/internship/residency route, and I had to work my way through uni without help from my parents or scholarships.

The last place was in San Diego (~300 miles round trip), in the Gaslight District, with an overnight stay at Motel 6. The place before that was in Santa Barbara, with similar accommodations. Before that, it was Las Vegas, where we won just enough at the tables to break even on the trip.
