A bit confused.

I moved from Georgia to Ohio back in October, I told a girl I liked that i was moving, she seemed wrecked and i panicked and promised her that i would come back eventually. I have realized over the past few days that by the time i get back (7 years at the earliest), she will have found someone already, and my whole family is here. So should i keep my promise, or tell her that i don't know if i will be able to move back and break it, and possibly lose one of my best friends?

This is just a wild guess, but telling her the truth might work.

People & situations change a lot in seven years - be honest and just see how it goes.
