RE: Dating for Aspies
Im wondering how does aspergers in females differ from males?
I have finally decided to try and get a girlfriend, but i want to find one with Aspergers so i can relate to her, as i find it hard to converse with NT's because i think i piss them off including family.
I am wondering can anyone suggest some dating sites for aspies in Australia, any help is apreciated because when i see other people with a girlfriend i feel empty and i want to fix this, some of my freinds have said to me at times that women have been putting the moves on but i havent known as i miss alot of socail ques,
Thanks in Advance
Sorry about the grammar errors but i think this is readable
I don't think that you should specifically look for a girl with Asperger's, mostly because that's like looking for a needle in a haystack! Even though it may seem like there's a ton of us on the interwebs, in real life we're all pretty dispersed. Not to mention, having or not having Aspergers does not define who they are as a person, although it does give a common point of reference and may provide a few shared personality traits. The only site I know of specifically for people with Aspergers is aspieaffection, but I haven't heard anything good about it (never used it myself).
Aspie girls are wonderful, by all accounts; just don't write off the NTs. What ^^^ said.
And remember that compatibility does not always equal chemistry. You and an NT may be just what each other needs, ultimately.

Women tend to have different coping mechanisms and sometimes focus on slightly different things but that's mostly it.
There are no dating websites for Aspies in Australia that I know of - and if they were I highly doubt they would have anywhere near enough members.
If you live in one of the capital cities, then probably you may have more luck at seminars for people with Asperger's which focus on different issues. Every time I go there are usually quite a few men there, but always enough women with AS to surprise me too, last time there was 15 of us out of a room of 70. They say it's 1 in 10 but more than 1 in 10 turn up to those.
