I got really depressed reading Worst thing the opposite gender has ever told you about you?-thread. So I want you all to post some of the best things people have said to you.
I'll go first. My friend recently told me this
'You are the most amazing person I know, because you are you, and make no excuses about it.'

I agree. The highest compliment anybody can pay to me is that they accept me for who I am, and mean it.

Highly intelligent and gift for words. Good friend.

It's good to see positive more than negative. The ladder is only going to kill you.

The best ones have stuck in my head verbatim:

"You're just so likeable."
"I know a lot of people in our class who think you're a genius."
"You really are a great guy."

And there are other good ones, especially recently, but those are some of the ones that have sunk in the most deeply over time.

I worry I sound a little vain on WP some times, but see usually I have tended to feel pretty lowly about myself, and it's helped to share the things that have made me feel better.

That is a good thing then. :)

I like this topic too. The most recent compliment I can remember receiving (from a friend, not significant other) is that she feels more relaxed whenever she sees me. Maybe this isn't a direct compliment but it makes me feel good that I have the capacity to make another person feel that way.

If all we do is b***h and moan about how bad things are, things will never feel better. Sometimes we really need to see the positive in ourselves and others, and cheer each other up a little.

I love that compliment. A close friend of mine recently said he felt very calm and safe and secure in my presence, and it feels nice to be able to give that gift to someone. I know I sometimes need someone to make me feel that way too.

Oh luckily I get far more positive comments than negative. I always like the ones which accepts me as well, just accepting me being me.

The best however hmmm:

''When I see you, I always get a smile on my face''

Very cute!

Moomingirl and I have been talking about this a lot lately actually; I don't want to dismiss what people are going through at all, or "blow smoke" at people, but we just noticed that much of the time a lot of us never get around to taking positive steps or feeling better. We'd like to concentrate more on those things.

Personal growth can take a long time too, so it takes a lot of patience especially in a place like these forums, where there is a lot of pain and need. But it's still worth pursuing and encouraging it. It's good to see threads like these, and good to see people feeling good about themselves. And I for one would like to help people find some well-founded optimism.

People have said I am the kind of person they can tell anything to, know I won't tell anyone, but also give advice.

Perhaps I should take a pick between "gorgeous eyes", "hot muscular legs", "appealing face", "hot body", "nice ass", "great smile" but I'm also wondering which ones of those are truly meant and which aren't.
