Hey y'all,

I haven't posted in this subforum for a while. I have no intention of turning this into a trainwreck like the last couple of times. I just want to say this:

I admit that I have a pretty grim view about my prospects of romance. I think it's because of two major fears:

1) Of being betrayed or manipulated.
2) Of not living up to anyone's standards.

Care to discuss?

The attitude that you don't have to live up to anyone elses standards is a good one, but I think it's better to have no fear about that. At some point even if you met someones super high standards you'd end up having to meet someone elses. You're not there to live up to anyones expectations, you just improve the things about you that you want to improve.

^Like what things? Personality? Skill set?

Literally whatever you want but yes you include both of those. Personality more likely yes, but only in the case you don't like something about your personality.. so changing it only serves to become more of the person you are than less.
