Just for a bit of fun, I pose this question to you:

What's a quality that you find attractive or unattractive in a potential mate, that defies the stereotype of what "most people" are attracted to?

Here's one from me to start us off:

Confidence. I'm not attracted to confidence, and if there's more than an average amount then it is usually a turn-off.

Alive. I don't have any crushes on dead people.

Some have crushes on dead celebrities. I'll try again...

Outgoing. Too much is a bad thing. A little shyness and modesty goes a long way toward being attractive.

Better?

Personality
Turn-on
-Bookworm.
-Willingness to dive into a plate of food and make a mess.
-Shyness, even timidness.

Turn-off
-Social butterfly/party girl.
-Feminist.

Physical
Turn-on
-Big thighs or 'thunder' thighs. Nothing grabs my attention quite like a nice, full pair of thighs, clothed, bare, whatever.
-Somewhat related. Cellulite. For some reason I find a bit of cellulite very attractive.
-There's a certain back shape some girls have that I'm very attracted to, but I can't quite put my finger on it.
-For white girls, paler skin (within reason) is very attractive. But I also have a thing for black women, which is weird.

Turn-off
-Tanned girls, especially if it's fake. Doesn't make them unattractive but I'd rather see them in a more natural skin color.

Glasses. Glasses tend to make any girl cuter.

Prefer dark hair to blonde (don't like curls/wavy hair much at all, though.)

Prefer Slavic looking white people to Scandinavian (stereotypical Aryan...) looking white people.

Prefer girls with bigger more muscular looking legs and bigger thighs, not twig skinny legs.

There's a certain type of tomboyish look that is hot. Only if they clean up nice though.

An excessively slim figure and an excessive tan in a blond woman of European ancestry. The classic "hot babe" is not attractive.

Also: femininity and passivity. Women who are too passive and feminine irritate the s**t out of me. Sorry to be blunt, but it's true.

Well physically I like pixie cuts when done right and gingers.

I also like tomboy personalities.

I think your definition of confidence is somewhat misguided, confidence is our ability to trust ourselves and our ability to do something, misconceptions seem to have misguided your view and perspective of what it truly is.

Yes, I was going to call it "outward confidence" or "obvious confidence" or something like that but I couldn't think of the right word. What I was basically referring to is guides on how to attract a partner that tell you to "be confident". That's not a quality that has any positive effect on me, in fact if someone really gives me the impression that they are confident when chatting me up, it may turn me off. I would rather they appear nervous or at least a little uncertain of their ability to woo me. Because that's how I feel/appear when I like someone, so I guess I want to feel a rapport with them.

Well, I've never actually managed to feel attraction for fashion models, but then again, I think most men haven't, unless they're from Dove ads.

And glasses turn me off too for some reason.

Pretentious, I think would be a problem for me.
