At 5ft7 I am 3 inches under average for an English male (these days 5ft10 is average height for a young male in the UK).

I remember back in September 2014 on the way to the restroom in my local bar I walked past these 2 women and I held eye contact with them for too long since admitidley I am a bit of an attention seeker. When I walked past them I heard one of the girls whisper behind my back to there friend (what a strange little man)

Do you think for holding eye contact for too long I deserved that bitchy remark? I have very good hearing so maybe they didn't realise I heard them?

I am very lean at 145-150 pounds, have a thick hairstlye and wore thick trainers that night to boost me up to just about 5ft8. So given all those factors I don't think I would have appeared all that 'little'.

That kind of stuff happens all the time in local bars.

These women were probably drunk, and didn't give a damn.

Can't you go somewhere else?

If you didn't talk to them at all, you didn't "deserve" the remark.

If you tried to hit on them....maybe you "deserved" it.

I think you would save yourself lots of trouble, personally, by not patronizing bars.

I would just ignore these little persnickety things, then.

I really would.

Pick your battles.

Why are you worried about something that happened three years ago?

Well because it was a very spiteful remark wasn't it? Probably not the last time something like that will happen to me.

Have you never made a disparaging remark about someone based on their appearance or behaviour?

People make remarks all the time. It should be "in one ear, and out the other."

You never know the actual motivation of the people who make these sorts of remarks---or their state of inebriation--or even if they woke up on the wrong side of the bed.

Water off a duck's back, forget about it and move on with life.
If you take every snide remark to heart and stew on things people you don't even know said years ago you won't get far in life.

Nobody deserves or doesn't deserve anything in this life. The idea of things being fair, balanced, and equal is not natural and was placed in your head by a well meaning society. Sometimes this civil society will try to right the wrongs, but they really don't have time for such petty things as could be heard on an elementary school playground. Let that picked at scab heal over and get on with important things.

And look, they called you strange and now you've had all your revenge by calling them bitchy in public. Though I daresay they still win because here you are years later still punctured.

Maybe you DO "deserve" it.

So what?

Being "a strange little man" isnt the worst thing in the world.

There is a young lady who helps run the local autism/aspergers support group I go to who strikes me as rather "strange".

But I still admire her from afar  . Maybe I have a higher tolerance for strangeness than the next person. But even so...
