Is that the same Thurber that did the funny short stories?I loved Sitting in the Catbird Seat.The hero was obviously an Aspie.

Yes. He also wrote The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. It was turned into a movie that starred Danny Kaye (which Thurber didn't like) and there's a remake coming out with Ben Stiller in the Mitty part. I wonder if it will be more faithful to Thurber's story?

His short stories and cartoons often feature a small, timid main character who's beset by the world (and women in particular).

Yes, I think Thurber made up that first name because it sounds like ugly.
