What do you think of them as a place to meet the opposite sex?

I'm talking about the likes of Starbucks, Costa and similar places.

I'm taking for granted that you're not speaking of any Amsterdam stuff, but the places where they actually sell coffe.

It can be a great place, depending on what you make it. For guys, initiating a chat with an employee(preferably a good looking one) can demonstrate social value which girls who visit there will notice. The "Is this seat vacant?" line/move is a bit too obvious but it can work if its presented correctly. I wouldn't say its the best place to initiate a conversation but rather a place to seek out after the initiation of contact has been made.

Personally I have never tried to seduce anybody at a coffe shop so I have no personal experience.

When I was dating that was the place I would always go.It is not usually to noisy to talk but there are other people ,so a female can feel safe. There are other people there,so you can look away from the person occassionally. The next best place is a musuem, unless you worry about having to talk "artsy"...not my forta.Aften a few dates, when the person can trust you more, public parks are nice but it is great if you can check them out first and make sure they are not lame ones.

I haven't tried that yet, but was actually planning on trying it myself next week. I was going to try one of the coffee shops within Barnes & Noble or Books-A-Million as I would be able to go from the cafe to the store and back as needed so as not to appear to just be hanging around, plus i have a hard time sitting still for very long. And there are a lot of books I need to catch up on. :)
