No. No you are not.

Don't you just love the users who refer to themselves as nerds in their profiles, yet have NO academic interests listed, poor spelling/grammar, and the entire profile is written at an elementary school reading level?

Apparently, there has been a massive shift in the meaning of the word "nerd." Now a nerd is just anyone who likes to play video games.

That's why they say kind of nerd.

World keeps getting larger quicker than the language can keep up. Whachagonado.

Merely liking video games does not suggest any kind or extent of nerdiness.

it does when compared to people who never ever play video games and think those that do are loser nerds

PS getting offended that the label you like to apply to yourself is being self-applied by people you look down upon would suggest a need to upgrade your labelling :P

I believe the new spelling is "watyabe", after "whachagonado" became "whachaballing" (get it, gonad-o.. balls..) turned "watyaball'n"...

Nerd can mean just about anything in modern society, in the same way "I'm so OCD!! !!1" means you don't actually have OCD. Take it however you want but don't get offended.

Megan Fox is considered nerd because she uses twitter.

Well it doesn't really annoy me. It's just their way of being cute. And it's not just playing video games. I did found out I am more geek than nerd since nerd from what I was told is more sci-fi, comic bookish sort of things versus that kind of things that I'm into like history and lit.

Is that directed at me? If so, you've got a whole lot of unfounded assumptions there.

Did you even read what you wrote in your first post? Or are you being literal autistic now?

THIS. Based on the criteria presented here, I am a nerd. Most of my friends would merely be geeks though. :P

Yes, I read my own post. That's how I know that it doesn't say or imply that I'm "offended" by anything, and it doesn't say or imply that I "look down" on anyone, which is why I don't know what you are talking about, but, upon reflection, I have actually never understood your posts, so I'm just going to stop trying.

So nevermind.

Statements that start with "Don't you just love" are known to be implied sarcasm and therefore involve the element of looking down upon the subject of the sentence. Perhaps the reason you don't understand my posts is because you are not very smart? It's OK, people are allowed not to be as smart as me, there is no law against it or anything.

It also extends to people who play games on facebook, or post memes all day.
