Seriously, I love this guy. He got me a really awesome but obscure book on my special interest published in another country. I've been wanting it for AGES, but couldn't justify spending a lot of money on the international shipping. But to spoil me for Christmas, he got it delivered to me here in the States :) He also got me a more common (but still awesome) book on my interest, chocolate rocks (I know, I'm a kid), and convertible hiking pants from REI. All while he's deployed in the middle of the ocean. I am thrilled :)

What fun gifts are you getting this year/have you gotten in the past? Anything particularly thoughtful (rather than just "oh this would be a nice gift for somebody" gifts)?

While we were dating, my husband got me the complete Monty Python 's Flying Circus, and all the Kids in the Hall episodes on DVD. Another year he got me an expensive santuko knife I was eyeing. We don't exchange gifts anymore, but they're still my favorites. :)

Your guy sounds awesome. :D

A few years ago, my friend Robert gave me a .45-scale replica of Anakin's lightsaber hilt from "Revenge of the Sith". Its still in the box, because I don't have a safe place for the display.

MjrMajorMajor-- That's awesome!! See, I love things like that. Little things that may not be the classic "buy this for your spouse" gifts, but instead are more tailored towards what you actually want :) I still want some santuko knives!! Someday! Maybe next year :D

Moviefan2k4-- Oh that is awesome!! Way way cool :) Are you looking to eventually do a box display or a wall one?
