A guy at work told me he uses it and said he found a girl and went to her place for presumably a one night stand.

I was intrigued and just desperate enough to give it a try, I must have liked a couple of dozen women on there by now, but no matches. It uses your Facebook details as a profile, and mine has a fake age of 19 which I can't change even though I'm 24, so maybe that's hurting my chances. Or maybe I just need to like a couple of hundred people, I'm not sure. A quick Google search on the subject turns up forum posts from guys who claim to game the system by liking everyone even before the photo loads, but It's not in my nature to do something like that. Plus I enjoy the (false?) hope that someone I liked might actually like me back.

If they actually did, they'd probably quickly find out that they don't like me as a person, but at least I'd have the chance to talk to them. So I think I will persevere, for a little while. Has anyone else here tried it?

Never heard of it until now.

First thing that I would be iffy about it is that it requires your facebook info. Heck no.

Edit: On the flip side, you could simply create a new facebook profile just to use Tinder..no friends or family of yours would get 'phished' from your contacts in such a facebook page.
