But my footballer hates me.

Go on, laugh. The only thing keeping me from crying right now is the fact that I don't want to create a scene at work.

:(

I'm not saying I told you so. I just want you to listen. It might not be too late. You want a footballer, then be what he wants. Dress like it whether you like it or now. Thats how you get that man.

Kinda like this, but now as slu*ty.

Nah, it was never there to begin with. I told him about how I got a new place (after every training session I went to I got into the habit of bailing him up for a chat) and it's in the same suburb as him (he told me which suburb he lived in a while back when I first moved to Brisbane) and his first reaction was "Bullsh**!". After a second he composed himself and asked where it was, but I got the main gist. He was only ever nice to me because I paid him to be.

Don't matter. Some boys are pay to play. Good. that's perfect. how were you dressed when you talked to him?

No offence, but I don't just want him to be nice to me/sleep with me/whatever just because I pay for him. I want him to love me for me, and want to be with me regardless of what I've paid. He's never liked me, he's only put up with me because I paid to sponsor him.

I was even going to be happy with just friends, but it looks like even that is out. :(

And I was wearing my favourite Sonic shirt and jeans (according to one of his team mates, he likes jeans on girls).

Look, you can make him love you. You just have to know how to work what you got. For real, I'm serious.

It wouldn't be right though. Every minute he wastes on me is a minute he could've been looking for the one he really loves and wants.

I mean, I won't stop sponsoring him as he's a bloody good player and it's nice to be able to brag that I'm the player sponsor of the Lions two-time Club Champion, but I won't be talking to him unless he talks to me first. And the chances of that happening are slim to none (except maybe the player sponsor function where he has to at least say hi, but I'm planning to hide behind my mother (who sponsors another player) for the duration of that function).

I don't understand what it is that happened that shows that he hates you?

His reaction to me moving to the same suburb as him said it all.

I guess "hate" was a bit of a strong word to use, more like "thinks I'm an annoyance and would rather I disappear" would be more appropriate.

"Look, you can make him love you."

... I don't assume that you're in a happy and meaningful relationship. Or ever have been.

Maybe he said that cause he thought it was "too good to be true".

Or because he was surprised at the coincidence of someone he's known for a while in the football context moving near him. Like a "small world!" type of thing. Similar to when people say "get out!" or "shut up!". They just mean they're surprised.

That's what I would have taken from his reaction as well.

I'm pretty sure I heard disappointment in his voice.
