It depends whether you get attached easily. If you can separate those emotions from just enjoying being with someone you might be ok.

This. If you can handle it, there's nothing wrong with a few dates/hangouts to enjoy each other's company for a while. Then maybe you're never together, or maybe you're together later in life, who knows - but at least you could enjoy each other's company for a while.
