I recently managed to find a very unique job opportunity for people on the spectrum; it was an solid offer with a salary above living wage. I haven't completed very much post secondary despite being around for 3 years; no degrees or diplomas. Since I don't plan to return to school in the immediate/near future, where would I find a potential partner?

Logistics/other info

- I'm 21, male, straight.
- I don't drive. Can't trust myself with a car.
- I work in a large software company. I'm very young as they go and most everyone is at least 5-10 years older than me. I also would have no idea how to approach people in other divisions.
- I can't read people's facial expressions. I try to compensate for social weaknesses by always smiling. I have some sensory problems with clothes; and I have to make a lot of awkward movements because its very difficult for me to feel comfortable in anything. I think this greatly contributes to people thinking that I'm weird. Touching people or other objects isn't an issue.
- I attend some local meetups; of an aspies group and a young adults mental health group. There is no one near my age in the aspies group. In the YA mental health group we're all similar in age, but I have no idea if I'm interested in anyone. How would I keep my options open?

Thanks.

On a more local level, Focus Professional Services is a consulting organization based in Vancouver, Canada that attempts to hire people on the spectrum to act as IT consultants. They're a very new organization.

For those of us in Vancouver, there is an Aspies Meetup group; pm me if you're interested. I look forward to seeing anyone in Vancouver either in person or in a larger gathering!
