Whenever i'm at family gatherings the female members of my family and family friends always dote on my older brother and talk about how he would make a great husband/boyfriend. They are also always trying to set him up with "a cute girl they know". This has been going on since we were teenagers. In the past when they did this I didn't think much of it or might have gotten slightly irritated but shrugged it off for the most part. But as time has gone by and I find myself at 23 years old with no romantic or sexual experience to speak of it is starting to get to me and hurt my feelings somewhat. When I see them trying to hook my brother up with women and ignore me I feel like they think that they know no girl they know would be interested in me because i'm different. I suppose it shouldn't be a surprise that they see my brother as an eligible bachelor. He is tall, good looking, funny, extroverted, and most importantly neurotypical. I'm decent looking but I have this thing called asperger's that repulses most women. I just feel like a loser and get depressed over my circumstances alot. Can anyone relate?

i don't have any brothers nor sisters... but it has happened to me among my step cousins.

Have you talked to your parents about this?

I've noticed what seems like my family doing this with my brother, but not specifically to do with relationships. Things to do with houses, cars, jobs etc. Just generally treating him as an accomplished adult who is or will be in a position to have these things, it seems.

I can't relate to this, since I was raised by my grandmother, but it it were me I'd start ignoring my family and stop going to family gathering all together.

Yes, people said that my sister would get married before I did. They were correct. I was seen as the weird dark mysterious one and was told "guys don't like that."

Coaxing girls towards laughter is an ART FORM. You're obviously going to have some of the features people admire in your brother, but everyone will get more of your jokes when you only paraphrase the hooks; use your own humor, just concentrate on the delivery sounding like you specifically.

My family is still certain I should be single my whole life with no family. Just going to be so much fun when I prove them wrong.

I'm in your same boat. Right you are, it's a good ship...
