That, for me is true. The rest of the article...hmm...I get how a reader could be more understanding and how it can open their world view, that is quite interesting. I find the rest is assuming quite a bit.

An unfortunate truth, but I doubt it will die out entirely.

When I was little I could read 2-3 short novels in a week, but I never noticed the effects. The world of fiction and the world of people was separate.

Books were my first escape.Once I learned to read I went from being the kid that annoyed the teachers to their pet book worm :D I can read faster than most,so I devoured books.I love the way they smell,sweet from the tannin in the paper I guess,the library smell.I have two book cases full,and still I collect more.
