Lately I've been wishing that my first guy was called Notus Frodus, or something... because as it turned out, his first name is common all over the world, and his second name seemingly mostly popular in the UK, and despite never having noticed it before I obviously notice it everywhere now.

So... do you think those whose lovers had rarer names have an easier time moving on?

Reminders can be painful, but if it's not a name it's a word, gesture, place, food or whatever.

I'm sorry...no offense...but NOTUS FRODUS

I can't stop laughing

In all seriousness, yeah, I can see how that would be difficult, but sometimes it's important to dissociate things like names, objects, songs, etc. from people, especially if you've had a bad experience with the person. You can't let someone else ruin YOUR enjoyment of life.

Yeah, I know how that is.

I still cringe when I see one of my long-term exes' names, just because the way things flew to shreds was so spectacular and so painful that I'm still recoiling from it four years later.
