I've been wondering how people on here found their partners, and how hard they found searching for them.I've had no success at relationships and am looking for inspiration.

I'm currently single now, but I met my first girlfriend in high school, and I met my second one online.

Met my partner when him and my father were working at the same company. Met him when Dad introduced me to him and he fixed up a new computer for me.

I met my husband through an old boyfriend. I guess he figured I needed help. He said, I found the perfect man for you and he was right. Come to think of it, I met all my boyfriends through old boyfriends except the first one. I met him through his brother.

I've had my hand my whole life.

Before that though, I met my wife when I found her sleeping on my couch. I thought that she was cute, but was afraid to say anything. Later, I was listening to some music, getting ready to go out, drinking - and she came up 'cause I was playing one of her favorite bands. I had had enough 'liquid courage' to ask her to come along with me.

Met my boyfriend at the tiny coffee shop he used to run..(with his previous (much more NT than me) girlfriend)
I became friends with them and ended up working for them.
He became fixated on me because I was so weird and because we shared a whole lot of similar interests/have very similar personalities...My main obsession was making sock creatures..the HE got obsessed with sock creatures...There was alot of drama involved with how we got together...many sock creatures were burned in the fire pit by his ex-girlfriend..but that was a long time ago...they are still business partners..

Now we have been running a weirdo performance and arts space for 4 years (minus a few bumpy months)

This is an interesting thread as it answers another question for me.

But back to the question. I am single right know but the best person I ever met, I met her on vacation in Turkey on boat. She thought I was a criminal as I was fully dressed, trousers and shirt with glasses instead of the string vest and short.

I met both my ex-husband and my current husband online. The ex and I spent far less time getting to know each other and after three years the marriage was over and I was 700 miles away.

My current husband and I spent 3 years talking online before we ever met. That was almost 10 years ago now. We finally got married 1.5 years ago :) It was definitely worth the wait :)

On a MUD (online, multiplayer text-mode game), back when there was no web, and the Internet was dominated by nerdy academics and college students.

I met my most recent girlfriend (now ex-girlfriend, don't ask) on a dating site. The site, as well as online dating in general, has worked for me quite well during the past year. I've been on at least five dates, thanks to the internet.
