I consider sapiosexuality to be my orientation. Anyone else?

I get really turned on by intelligence!

So do I!

I suppose I fit that profile, although as long as I'm not in school I do so at my own peril...

I don't really get what it means. I find intelligence attractive in a partner, but I'm not sure that I'm "sexually" attracted to it. There's a question on OkCupid that asks if intelligence turns you on. I had to put in the comments that "I am attracted to intelligence but it doesn't 'turn me on' as such". However, I have found myself attracted to persons BECAUSE they are intelligent and for no other initial reason.

So a sapiosexual would become sexually aroused by intelligence, is that what it means? Like in the same way as someone might become sexually aroused by seeing naked breasts, a sapiosexual might become sexually aroused by hearing someone say something clever? If that's the case then no, I'm not a sapiosexual. Interesting concept though.

I think that's a bit extreme of a word to use. I think intelligence will make a person more attractive to me, I guess it's all in how you define the word. I'm not "turned on" by it, but I wouldn't want to enter a relationship with someone who wasn't intelligent to some degree.

Self-claimed sapiosexual women often turn out to be very pretentious.

I never read that word before and at first I thought it might mean you like monkeys or apes, etc.

But after reading above I'm cool now and get the gist of it.

I think I have a bit of it. I might think a woman is beautiful and initially be attracted, but if she has an empty coconut head I'll be turned off.
