I live in Canada about 10 miles North of the USA, so close enough.

The answer is… it depends. On location & the local culture.

If you move to a major port city, i.e. NYC, LA, Seattle etc then the chances of finding someone willing (or even wanting) to date a foreigner go way up because they're very diverse multicultural cities with immigrants from all over the world. (as it is here in the Vancouver area, BC, Canada.)

But if you move to the middle of nowhere small town USA or to the deep South, then you might have a harder time as people are more likely to be interested in their own very small cultured universe and the sameness that comes with all the people around them.

The USA is geographically HUGE and has over 350 Million people… chances are pretty good you'd be able to get a date there just fine - but it's likely to be easier in a major port city, IMO.

As long as you can speak English (which you probably can, as you can type it), I wouldn't care. I looked into learning Swedish (as I was interested in visiting for a while) and it looks tough! So we'd be waiting around for a while to be able to communicate with each other if one of us had to learn the other's native language.

I'm not American, though.

Well my wife's cousin married a Swede 17 years ago, and they're still married. She and her sister both have blonde hair and married blond haired guys and their kids' hair is even blonder. And technically, they're all Jewish (the cousins and their kids because it passes through the mother).

To be honest, nobody from Europe would really be considered "foreign" in the US except maybe in places you wouldn't want to live in anyway.

Instead you should be asking yourself how you plan to support yourself once you get here. If they have Starbucks in Sweden, you should work there for a while, then you'll have the necessary job skills to find a job here.

San Francisco California the most open and liberal City in America I would reccommend going there to ensure a date!
