I find it ironic - and amusing - that the fervour can make one, shall we say, disinclined to care about having hair in one's mouth after oral sex (as so happens)... but half a year later not want to even say a word to an ex.

Hm yeah i get that.

One minute you are willing to let them know your deepest darkest secrets andcommit the deepest acts together next you would never so much as give them the time of day.

But i also think even though people try to forget, the feeling is always there. That you and this person once, at least at some point, had a 'thing'.
