No Scrubs -- TLC

A scrub is a guy that thinks he's fly
And is also known as a buster
Always talkin' about what he wants
And just sits on his broke ass
So (no)

I don't want your number (no)
I don't want to give you mine and (no)
I don't want to meet you nowhere (no)
I don't want none of your time (and no)

I don't want no scrub
A scrub is a guy that can't get no love from me
Hanging out the passenger side
Of his bestfriend's ride
Trying to holler at me
I don't want no scrub
A scrub is a guy that can't get no love from me
Hanging out the passenger side
Of his bestfriend's ride
Trying to holler at me

A scrub is checkin' me
But his game is kinda weak
And I know that he can not approach me
Cuz I'm lookin like class and he's lookin' like trash
Can't get wit' no deadbeat ass
So (no)

I don't want your number (no)
I don't want to give you mine and (no)
I don't want to meet you nowhere (no)
I don't want none of your time (and no)

I don't want no scrub
A scrub is a guy that can't get no love from me
Hanging out the passenger side
Of his bestfriend's ride
Trying to holler at me
I don't want no scrub
A scrub is a guy that can't get no love from me
Hanging out the passenger side
Of his bestfriend's ride
Trying to holler at me

I don't want no scrub
A scrub is a guy that can't get no love from me
Hanging out the passenger side
Of his bestfriend's ride
Trying to holler at me
I don't want no scrub
A scrub is a guy that can't get no love from me
Hanging out the passenger side
Of his bestfriend's ride
Trying to holler at me

If you don't have a car and you're walking
Oh yes son I'm talkin' to you
If you live at home wit' your momma
Oh yes son I'm talking to you (baby)
If you have a shorty but you don't show love
Oh yes son I'm talking to you
Wanna get with me with no money
Oh no I don't want no (oh)

No scrub
No scrub (no no)
No scrub (no no no no no)
No scrub (no no)
No

I don't want no scrub
A scrub is a guy that can't get no love from me
Hanging out the passenger side
Of his bestfriend's ride
Trying to holler at me
I don't want no scrub
A scrub is a guy that can't get no love from me
Hanging out the passenger side
Of his bestfriend's ride
Trying to holler at me

I don't want no scrub
A scrub is a guy that can't get no love from me
Hanging out the passenger side
Of his bestfriend's ride
Trying to holler at me
I don't want no scrub
A scrub is a guy that can't get no love from me
Hanging out the passenger side
Of his bestfriend's ride
Trying to holler at me

(rap):

If you can't spacially expand my horizon
Then it leaves you in a class with scrubs - never risin'
Now don't run a suprisin' if you don't have the g's to please me
And bounce from here to the coast of overseas
So
Let me give you somethin' to think about
Innovate your mind with intentions to turn you out
Never forget the focus on the picture in front of me
You as clear as DVD on digital tv screen
Satisfy my appetite with somethin' spectacular
Check your vernacular
And then I'll get back to ya
A diamond-like incision
Insatiable is what I envision
Can't detect the position from your friend's expedition
Mr. Big Willy
If you really wanna know
Ask Chilli - could I be a silly ho
Not with T-Boz and all my señoritas
And steppin' on your felas
But you don't hear me though

I don't want no scrub
A scrub is a guy that can't get no love from me
Hanging out the passenger side
Of his bestfriend's ride
Trying to holler at me
I don't want no scrub
A scrub is a guy that can't get no love from me
Hanging out the passenger side
Of his bestfriend's ride
Trying to holler at me

I don't want no scrub
A scrub is a guy that can't get no love from me
Hanging out the passenger side
Of his bestfriend's ride
Trying to holler at me
I don't want no scrub
A scrub is a guy that can't get no love from me
Hanging out the passenger side
Of his bestfriend's ride
Trying to holler at me

That song echoes in my head for some weird reason.

That song is catchy and has a nice beat--but may I ask why you're posting the lyrics here?

This song seems a bit of a fiminist to say the least. This song reminds me that I have to go through all this inconviencince to find somone. And at the end of it I still have no one and I am still paying though the nose.

Why do you think I live by myelf instead of with my mum, because I like the independance?
Why do you think I have a car, for the extra convieniance?
Why do you think I dress like class, because I am into fasion" who look at me I like to spend my money on cloths instead if airfix models."

Loneliness is the worst formof slavery.

have you ever studied what feminism is about? in order to know what something is really about, one needs to get beyond hearsay and read the feminist authors for oneself.

I guess there are some intellectual feminists out there, but the majority of their belief is based of on something that isn't how things truly are.

TLC had another song called "so unpretty". It appears to be a kind of double standard

Are you sure you put the correct link in your post? It has absolutely nothing to do with feminism--it's a set of English class-style questions about a poem involving garbage men.

It says more or less what I wanted to say.

I just hope you're not using this song to guide your life. I think I would be more insulted by the opportunity to "get love from" TLC than anything.

Well if it wasn't NT woman, I would be still living at home with my mother, and I wouldn't have bought a car, and I would look like a minger too.

just as you have standards for yourself concerning the kind of women you want, women have standards also concerning the kind of men they want.

they aren't evil because they don't want you. turn about is indeed fair play in this case. more than one female on this site has been offended at your apparent shallowness. now it's your turn to be offended by the shallowness of others...

TLCs song shows apparent disrespect for those who don’t fit their standards to the extent that they have to write a song about it.

I do have standards but do not disrespect those who do not pass it. Because I have a logical understanding why people are the way they are, I can appreciate their differences.

As for being shallow I don’t think that I am anywhere near some NT males level of shallowness not even an NT woman’s. Just want her to be a bit intellectual. The problem was I was compared with other males who are shallow. I have more to say but I have to work now.

i too have a little bit more to say.

you use the term "feminist" as some sort of blanket insult. but the problem is, the traits you are calling "feminist " in women are the very traits you have.

in other words, they aren't going to lower or change their standards for you, so they become "feminists".
they are choosing their own destiny, so they become "feminists". they choose independence instead of dependence on anyone, again "feminists".

but then you are not going to lower or change your standards for others. you want to define your own destiny.

sounds like you and TLC really do have alot in common after all. except of course that you think women shouldn't be like men and have any rights to individual freedom...
