if someone who was quite phsyically attractive but had absolutely nothing in common with you suddenly took a romantic interest in you? I ask because I am almost certain that this is currently happening to me.

I'd give it a try. These things can sometimes work out. At least for a little while.

If there wasn't anything I found repulsive about them I'd give it a try.

If you are interested in her then go ahead and try I think. I think it depends on how important it is for you personaly that you have things in common other than mutual attraction. How long have you known her?

About 4 months or so. We both participated in a conversation in the break room one day and apparently she liked my sense of humor. Since then she's been staring at me and trying to stand close to me and whatnot.

Really, though, I don't think I could ever have an intelligent conversation with this particular person. The phrase blissfully ignorant comes to mind when I think about her. She's the type who questions nothing and lives like a robot. She doesn't care what she does with her life or what she leaves behind on this world, as long as she can stay happy and make lots of money. She finds things like art, philosophy, and politics to be stupid, complicated, and wastes of time. I am the exact opposite of that.

I don't think I could possibly ever like her in any way other than physically. I'm sure she's just infatuated with me for some reason and she'll go right back to ignoring me as soon as a better-looking guy catches her eye. Than again, beggars can't be choosers so I feel like I should at least give it a try. It's all very confusing.

Depends on whether you're looking for a fling or a relationship.

I think sometimes you can have more in common with someone than you think.

Do you like her in anyway other than attraction? Do you think she would be a good friend to have? If not then:
Are you morally or intelectualy opposed to having a relationship based on physical needs instead of love?
I'll say that I am personaly not into to that sort of thing, and if you are against that too then yeah, I think your insticts are right on this and it will never work out. Otherwise you could persue it for phyisical reasons alone, but be prepared for some very complicated issues later on.

I'd give it a try. I'm not that attractive of a guy, and anytime a girl shows interest in me, it's a blessing. Besides, she might turn out to be a nice person, and I'll feel more comfortable with her after getting to know her better. And there's just something exciting in someone being interested in you. Check out the Rollercoaster Relationship thread; it has a story about a scenario much like this. Sometimes, absolute wonders can be made with a simple "hi".

I don't think I would try it either.
This could lead to something horrible.

Hello,

As an attractive female you do not have to worry about sex ever. Snap your fingers and you could have dozen guys at your beck and call.

I am not discounting your AS, it is just that women have it so much easier when it comes to getting physical intimacy when they want it.

Sometimes as guys, we have to take what we can get.

I'd problably be paranoid that she is trying to set up a practical joke. At leat that's what I thought was happening with this girl who had a crush on me in middle school.
