Is dating different than having a girlfriend? Can you date without wanting a girlfriend?

If a man (or woman) has a girlfriend, it (usually) means there is a commitment between the couple—that both won’t see other people.

If two people are dating, a commitment is not required. The woman dating this man (or woman) might not be his (her) girlfriend yet.

So dating can lead to a relationship. This guy I’m talking to On OkCupid, he is not online. Now I’m wondering if he is on a date or he found another woman online, more prettier & more attractive than me.

Big rule for dealing with guys: don't be clingy and possessive, especially with somebody you've just started dating. That really freaks us out.
