I've seen several teens here saying they think they are bisexual. I don't think they are right. They are just at a difficult stage in their lives and are overly preoccupied with their sexuality. They might have anxiety disorders.

I am sure that is no different than what everyone else tells them.

I don't think every teen who thinks they could be bi-sexual is wrong on that point, it does exist so it would make sense that people would think about it at the ages they typically become more aware of sexuality.

Also not sure having an anxiety disorder would be any kind of evidence someone isn't actually bisexual.

What?
Sweetleaf, a symptom of obsessive-compulsive disorder is to suspect you are gay or bisexual. I have OCD and had that symptom at age 13, now I know I'm straight.

Nope, that is not in the diagnostic criteria....its possible someone with OCD could fixate on concern that they are gay or bisexual and obsess over it. But nothing in the diagnostic criteria implies obsessions/fixations are specifically to do with suspecting you're gay or bisexual.

Also its a logical fallacy to assume because you thought you were bisexual as a teen and came to figure you're actually straight, that any other teen who suspects they could be bisexual will also turn out to be straight, everyone is not you.

Probably because they are.

I believe there are some people who like both genders sexually. Not equally, though. Usually, one predominates over the other.

I'm exclusively straight myself.

Just to make things clear: I have nothing against LGBT people.

It was and maybe still is the hip and cool thing to be bisexual. I remember when it started bunch of popular people came out as bisexual and lots of show characters were then all of a sudden 80% of people on fm and dating sites changed their status to bisexual but had no interest in dating the same sex.

Now if it's someone legitimately questioning their sexuality then so be it. But I find it hard to believe that many people all around the same time started to. Later they changed it back. I dont know if many understood what it meant. If your like "I'm bisexual but I don't date same sex because eww" then your not bisexual.

Sexuality is a spectrum, so some teens would be still wondering where exactly they're standing.

I know I am bi, and I have barely had any bisexual experiences. I am barely a teen now though.

It's different for everyone. Some are not sure, some are.

Meanwhile, I knew I liked the same gender at 14 and still like it a decade later. I just learned that I only have a very superficial interest in the opposite... from a distance.

Said it before on WrongPlanet and I'll say it again: Your truth is not everyone's truth. Unless a teen seems abnormally preoccupied for a teenager, there's nothing to worry about and it's fine for them to be asking questions about what they really like.

Society is more accepting towards the idea that sexuality is complicated, it can't be defined in a linear context.

Don't act like you know everyone else's lives, Cockroach96. The fact that you think we're "overly preoccupied" with our sexuality is pretty offensive; you're acting like you're better than those who identify as bisexual. I have felt attraction toward both males and females for as long as I can remember. I wasn't able to pin down what my sexuality was until I was in high school, because I didn't know if it was normal for everyone to experience attractions to people of either sex to a degree. I have never had a boyfriend or a girlfriend, but I would love to have either one. Please don't show such baffling ignorance again.
