Why are people staring at me?

Recently I've been going on dates with this girl from my uni(mentioned in my previous post). She's been really great to me. I honestly never thought I'd get to be with someone like her. Well, she's not my girlfriend. But I wish she was. I highly doubt that would happen though. Anyway, when we walk around campus holding hands I've noticed some people(mainly guys) giving me weird/snobby looks. At first I thought I was being paranoid, but it's happened too many times now for it to be a coincidence. I mostly keep to myself so I don't know what I've done to warrant all these stares. It's making me really uncomfortable, but I'm not good with confrontation so I haven't said anything to anyone. I just want to know what the hell I've done . Am I missing something here ?

Well first just out of curiosity....why do you guys hold hands if she's not your girlfriend and its unlikely she will be?

Aside from that there is a good chance they're jealous, I don't think you've done anything wrong.

Sorry, let me clarify. She seems to like me, but I'm not clear on where we stand. We've only been dating for a short while, and I'm not certain she considers us exclusive. In any case, I'm too much of a wuss to ask. It's mainly her initiating anything, like the hand holding for instance. I kind of just get dragged along more often than not .

Well, her initiating the hand-holding os a good sign, you might want to ask anyway.

As for the stares: most likely disbelief and/or jealousy, don't make anything of it and try to ignore them.
