I just found out about this site by seeing someone mention it in one of the threads. I've only briefly checked it out so far but wow, the amount of ignorance is staggering. I'm just curious if any of you had to deal with someone who consulted this site or any one like it.

It's a forum that is best left alone, it's for venting, like bonding group therapy for unsuccessful relationships, except ASD is specifically scapegoated as the route of all the marital difficulties.

Yeah I wouldn't think of diving in to all of that mess. I'm just fascinating by this kind of thing. It amazing to see the crazy stuff some people will believe. Watching people try to rationalize their absurd attitudes and ideas is very interesting to me. I for some reason like to learn about ideas that I am fundamentally opposed to. It's entertaining and maddening at the same time listening to some people.

I decided after a mornings browsing that everything there is to be learned from that place can be summed up in this quote “The path of least resistance makes all rivers, and some men, crooked.”

I'm going to have to check it out to see what's being said. It's always good to see what the other side is saying so you get a full view of the picture.

Wow. I just read a few posts and I don't know what to think. They're angry about the empathy and the lack of closeness and I can understand that. There has to be a reason why alot of Aspie/NT marriages fail and I believe it's truly because of the lack of "closeness" and "emotional bonding".

They're a bunch of bigots who don't want to understand ASD people nor give them any time of day. I've even seen a recent thread there where they rant about how "horrible" it is that the children's TV show Sesame Street has introduced a new autistic character in order to teach acceptance to children. That's how petty they are.

Wait a minute... they think scenarios lacking in empathy & closeness are best addressed by anger?

I'll see myself out.

Opening that site made my (NT) wife go completely nuclear, which is a rare sight. The air turned blue around her, I don't remember ever seeing her so angry.
