K was a new college graduate, my second junior programmer to train. K was average. Looks, family, intelligence, ability, average for junior programmer. But, she was there, like to flirt and sleep around. Her car spent the night in many parking lots. I was 26 and K was 28. We had fun for a while.

There were a few problems. I was the lead programmer, developing a suite of business analytic packages. Giving K special attention was rude to the other programmers and I am slow. Walking a path between want and reason is tough. I didn't get it right and her eyes went to a bigger prize. It hurt, any fool would have seen it coming and stepped away.

Years later, I discovered the boss gave K credit for the math package in the suite. Its kind of funny, she did not know the difference between a correlation and a standard deviation. Good thing I dodged that bullet.

Merry Christmas K

Edit: I moved the post to a more appropriate forum for the story

What is the point of this sarcastic christmas greeting? You just wanted to let us know how bitter you are towards this woman from your past? That does not reflect well on you, if that was your intention. Not sure what the point of this thread is--are you trying to portray yourself as un-dateable? If you are attempting to prevent women from being interested in you by showing contempt for women you've had past relationships with, you are doing a good job of that here. So...good job?

I apologize if my story appears misogynistic. That was not the intent.

No sarcasm, no anger, no hate, it is just one of my stories. The greeting is sincere. The hurt left me many years ago. I only blame myself for not handling relationships better, girls are fun. As I said, I am slow.

I have dozens of stories that impacted my life. Some are funny, others are sad. This one is a bit of both.

The boss was a Don Quixote type of person. Today, we would call him a serial entrepreneur. I got bored of being his Sancho Panza and moved on. Being given a chance to learn and fail was a big prize for a young kid. So many good stories from those years.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all
