Do you think autistic guys are more likely to get attracted to girls with autistic traits? That might explain why geeky guys get attracted to artsy girls. A lot of artsy girls have autistic/ADHD traits. Maybe what they're really getting attracted to are the autistic traits. Unfortunately autistic traits in guys often make guys seem like neckbeards. I'm not saying all autistic guys are neckbeards, I've definitely met autistic guys who aren't at all neckbeardy. Some autistic guys can be smart in an attractive way.

I have never got along with anyone as well as I have with my partner (and I am very attracted to her)

And I will admit at times I have wondered if she is on the spectrum and she is pretty artsy and creative, there are also other traits which seem to match.

Old geezer (me) had to Google "neckbeard".

When I was a teenager, I would take any girl that would take me. I was not in the least picky and I did manage to get a girlfriend at various times.

I don't know about them being attracted to one another but a guy with AS is attracted to me (I have NLD) and I'm attracted to him as well.

Not for me, maybe others. I'm drawn to people with similar basic values. It's hard to describe what they are. Their genetic hardware doesn't dictate the kind of person they choose to be. How is extrapolates into their interests will sometimes line up, but not always, especially when it's of the opposite gender. These basic tenets will also affect their appearance as well, so how someone presents themselves says a lot about them as well. I like some autistic women here and am friends with them, I wouldn't go as far as to say I've got crushes, the internet is still a bit too impersonal for that to happen plus distance issues as well.

Dazzle 'em with the Tolkien and then when they're dazzled by your knowledge of Middle Earth you follow up with Star Wars before they can catch their breath. Those are my moves too!...apparently you have better luck with them than me though. :D

I like Star Wars and LOVE all things Tolkien, so that might actually work on me.

Well damn, where you been all my life?...we could have been debating Balrog vs. Rancor, the finer points of the Silmarillion, and the social aspects of shire life for years!

Lol, now I have this disturbing image in my head: a good sex life between two geeks is probably cost efficient, the bedroom toys could probably be used for Comic Con too.

edit: on a side note, if anyone reading this that goes to Comic Con, try not to think about that too much when you're judging other patrons...it'll only ruin the experience.

I've never met a girl I know is autistic before, so I wouldn't know.

I'm not really attracted to aspie girls but then again, I don't know a lot of aspie girls. Iv'e only met around 4 or 5?

Girl #1 Overweight, kinda quiet. Could definitely come off as "normal". To me it just seems like social anxiety is her #1 problem. I'm just not physically attracted to her.

Girl #2 Also overweight and she's like about 10 years older than I am. She's a pretty cool chick though we both have a quirky sense of humor but like I said, I have to be somewhat physically attracted to someone and i'm not attracted to overweight girls.

Girl #3. Knew her from elementary and high school, wasn't physically attracted to her either. I think she's in college now, good for her getting an education.

Girl #4. Although I don't technically know her, she came in like a week or two ago for a part of a meeting and I knew instantly she was an aspie by the way she acted. (I know this stuff okay?) And she later told my mom but I already knew. She seems like a cute girl and bonus points for being a petite redhead ;) I'd give her a chance. Too bad I probably won't see her again, lol.

Girl #5. Although she was in the same tiny college/business I was in, we actually never had a class together. She seemed pretty nice though. She was only in for one semester and didn't come back.

I have no idea if someone is an aspie or not irl, I didn't go to any special schools or are involved in any sort of community so I simply don't know any.

I think the idea that someone might understand and accept you for who you are is attractive and maybe someone else on the spectrum can fit that billing

Reading in my room by myself. Which would probably (at least partially) explain why I've been single for so much of my life.
