While on a trip to Boston this weekend, I took these pictures at a Boston Celtics game and tattoo convention that happen to be held in the hotel I was staying at with, respectively a pair of Celtics cheerleaders/dancers, and a pair of alternative/tattoo models. My question is, based on my appearance, which of these would be more suitable for me from a relationship standpoint?

I take it that you're only into someone's looks then? That would be your personal preference of what you like. Do any of them really want to go out with you or were they just there to take a picture with you because you went to their functions?

Can I ask how old you are too? Guys are more out with their age than women, but if you don't want to answer that's fine too.

Oh, and do you have any tattoos?

This is objectification - you might want to look into other aspects of a person, besides their looks, that create the foundation for a relationship. They aren't there to look 'suitable' for you.

@nurseangela and Lockeye. I'm 24. Although I do, like virtually everyone else, take looks into account, they are not by far the only thing I take into account, as I also take personality and common interests very much into account when looking for a potential partner. As for tattoos, no, because I'm a.) too squeamish (although I respect the hell out of anyone who would go through it) and b.) I'm going for my master's in history and from what I've gathered, most of the occupations favored by history majors frown on tattoos :P And to answer nurseangela's other question: no, they weren't interested in me. I was just using the pictures as an example of the kind of girls I'm interested in/attracted to.

You look a little older than 24 and act older, imo. The two types you have picked are extremely opposite so you'll have to pick one and then go with that. The tattoo gals I'm sure are going to want a guy with tattoos - that's pretty much a given. The "cheerleader" types are going to want someone good-looking so you'd want to probably get rid of the glasses and start wearing jerseys and go to the games quite often. Work out some. Maybe be on a pep club of some sort. Highlighting your hair would be an idea too. Cheerleaders are pretty outgoing and noisy - sounds like the total opposite of what an Aspie would want, but what do I know. :D

Well, you look a bit more...er..."excited" about the tattoo women?

In all seriousness though, your looks don't mesh with either set. I'm not saying anything about you, just your clothing style at those two instants. They are professional models at a gig and you were wearing nondescript casual clothing.

You are average, they are 10s.

Sorry, but society would usually dictate they are both out of your 'league', if you are one to believe in those things.

However, why should you care?

If you have the confidence of a 10, along with a good job and independence, go for whatever the heck you want to go for.

If it doesn't work out, perhaps think about aiming lower and more realistic.

Also, tattoo chick with the purple hair is the hottest.

Since you've made a thread like this, I was wondering if you could help contribute to my 'Male fashion advice' thread.

Perhaps you could tell me what kind of women you think would be good for me (nerd, goth, alternative, etc.) and if you think I have decent style or not:

flabby cheerleader esque models, who look like bad extras for a weird 90's sports or highschool movie with weird faces and one who looks like she's going for a fish face are 10's, I suppose that's interesting.

I wouldn't say any of those girls are 10s (based on appearance). 10s to me are the very best-looking people. They are not the very best-looking. I would say they are probably all above average for women of that age, but nothing particularly special.

That said, I don't think that any of those women seem like the types to be interested in the OP. He's not unattractive, but seems to be more of the intellectual type. Cheerleader types aren't typically intellectual, and neither are those who favor lots of tattoos/piercings. Cheerleaders in my experience tend to be more superficial, and boring. And those who have a lot of tattoos are often very artistic or unusual in other ways, but not necessarily intellectual. They tend to date others who are similar, from my observations.

If I were interested in women I'd much rather date the girls with all of the tattoos over the bottle-blond, fake-tanned cheerleaders.

"flabby cheerleader esque models, who look like bad extras for a weird 90's sports or highschool movie with weird faces and one who looks like she's going for a fish face are 10's, I suppose that's interesting."

At least 8-10 by societies standards (conventional), but not exactly by my own. ;)

And, the purple-haired woman is the only one I'm even slightly attracted to, the rest are completely neutral and do nothing for me whatsoever.

And, more like the purple hair dye suits her, she's skinny (not fit, but that's another story), why is some flab a bad thing, I thought that's realistic/average in people, rather than skin and bones models?

The woman is showing plenty of skin, and tattoos are sexy but she does not have too much and less than the woman on the right.

Also, maybe it's just me, but something about the purple-haired woman tells me she's a tad more genuine than the rest, while the others are just fake/putting on an act.

And, it was more a figure of speech than anything else.

"I wouldn't say any of those girls are 10s (based on appearance). 10s to me are the very best-looking people. They are not the very best-looking. I would say they are probably all above average for women of that age, but nothing particularly special."

Depends on who's standards we're going by.

Models are considered the best looking people, even though they are usually starvingly skinny (and not fit/toned at all) and the males are just skin and bones as well. The women have large amounts of makeup and sometimes a variety of cosmetic surgeries, as do the men.

To me, the only thing going for most models are their facial aesthetics, but even then most of them look extremely fake and unnatural.

If anything, models actually seem to make me feel the uncanny valley sometimes - maybe it's their unrealistic attractiveness, the photoshop, the artificial lighting, etc.

But they look far too foreign to me to ever be 'real' people.

"That said, I don't think that any of those women seem like the types to be interested in the OP. He's not unattractive, but seems to be more of the intellectual type. Hit the nail on the head.

The tattoo women are usually just your heavy smoker/drinker, butch, aggressive, alternative, bisexual, carnie crowd types who want a gruff cowboy-bro male.

If we're going to talk stereotypes, that's what I would percieve the two tattoo women as.
