If this were an ordinary, small-talk-rich, real-life conversation among neurotypicals, someone would have rushed to defend Yigeren from what would be perceived as malicious and pedantic nitpicking on sly279's part, by blurting out some astonishingly stupid rationalization like, "Yeah, look, learn: you look and learn. It's simple, really".
Since I'm one of those people that gets irritated by typos, misspellings, and bad grammar, I can't complain about nitpicking, anyway. Although I can't tell if it's nitpicking or genuine confusion.
Either way, people get offended way too easily. If someone points out a mistake, I would think that it's useful to know that I've made a mistake. The exception would be when one uses it to counter an argument.
Example:
Person 1: "I don't like Trump because he's an arrogant hyppocrit."
Person 2: "You can't even spell hypocrite!"
I hate when people do things like that, because they aren't actually addressing the argument. Although irritating at times, poor grammar and misspellings don't make an argument worthless.
