Men are part of the reproduction cycle. A SMALL part, you could say integral but small. so why do we need so many of us? survival of the fittest would kick in right? and I am ok with being left behind, as I am not competitive, and as much as I want a Girlfriend/Wife of my own I don't have the heart to attempt and get crushed. My issue here, is while I am no prince charming, I look around at the men that girls do end up with and my heart hurts. I watch it constantly happening, and then men wonder why women treat them so coldly... I know while I would treat a girl better, I couldn't stand up to competition. I have severe anxiety. I won't deny the few times I have asked girls out I have always gotten a yes. but these "relationships" just further pointed out my flaws. all of this leads to this simple yet devastating problem: Logic VS Desire. I desire a relationship, but I logically know I wouldn't do good in one. and while I won't attempt suicide as their are other things I can do in this world. this fact brings me to tears everyday. it hurts, I want to not be Loved, but Logically It would be pointless. sorry for my rant, I just feel like crap and wanted to post this somewhere.

P.S. As I am a logical based person, I would like to state that's all this is a "RANT". you can respond but don't expect me to reply.

Open doors and jar lids, driving cars, killing spiders, barbecue cooking and plumbing fixes, among other things.

Oh, was this a serious topic?

It's so weird because I always used to thing the same thing, that I would never be able to deal with a relationship.

But that 1 person out of a million can make all the difference.

For some reason their are less women because although you have a 50% chance of having either gender females are less likely to survive to term.

It has been suggested that a lower female populous has evolutionary benefits as in most species females chose who they mate with. Therefore they chose how the species will evolve. If there were more women then evolution would not occur due to no selective breeding removing undesirable traits.

That is from a science viewpoint and not my personal opinion

Actually, I have read that more female than male zygotes/embryos survive to term.

In terms of actual population, there's a virtually 1:1 correspondence between male and female. Some places have more males, other places more females.

Females, definitely, have a longer life expectancy than males.

Everything about life is apparently about "karma" in the sense that we will all experience everything that we or our servants cause others to experience, and if not in the current life, then it will happen in a future-existence.

That depends on if you think that another take on the old "I can't get a date, so what good am I?" thread is serious.

I wouldn't say I was really relationship material when I was 22 either, perhaps there is still time.

Fnord, if you read my Rant you would know that is is actually quite easy for me to get dates. I feel as though I don't actually deserve to pass my genes on due to my mental state and physical deficiencies. I have NEVER been turned down for a date. EVER. so... out of five women... those are good odds.

A good man can be assertive, decisive, supporting, protecting, and provides a nice warm body to fall asleep next to. He is definitely worth much more than his genetic material.

ah yes, but those very same attributes added or subtracted to without reservation can cause problems. for instance, I can be quite assertive when I need to be. However; I my assertiveness quickly becomes controlling. my decisiveness becomes my choice period. and supporting? autistics as a whole are not very...fluent in their emotional respect. Then we move to protection; yes protection is helpful, but most protection from men is strength, which is not so much protection when a gun can do twice as good a job without skill. warm body? most animals have that, and so do women. so, all our "traits" not only fit on women as well as men. To make matters worse, we as a male species seem to be mostly failing in the attributes we are SUPPOSED to have. I myself can't even criticize as I then become a hypocrite.

Who says you have to pass on your genes if you get in a relationship, not everyone want offspring.

biologically/evolutionary?
protection.

In the caveman world, a few alfa males are around who will get to breed with the females and create offspring; the rest of the men help with hunting and protecting the colony, as the women are raising the children.
As a secondary role, the " beta" males can take over for an alfa if one gets out of the picture (for example: eaten by a sabre tooth tiger)

Not valid for NDs. We are protective for completely different reasons and in different ways.

Why is height and build so important in relationships?--I can use a Hoyer lift to take care of larger spouse that can no longer move on her own.

Just about everything around you was built and designed by men. We'd still be living like animals if it weren't for men.

Because relationships are based on feelings and not rational reasons.
