If a guys slaps a woman's ass why might she get offended and yet if a girl touched a guys ass he would like it?

Don't women realise it's a compliment because the guy slapping her behind is implying she has a sexy body. In clubs when girls grope my butt I find it very flattering :D

Guys are typically capable of overpowering women. Further, men are conditioned that promiscuity is good or neutral, women are conditioned the opposite and that they need to be far more discreet then men. Because of that, when women do it, it's unexpected. When men do it it's simply entitled sexual aggression. If you had to deal with women constantly being pushy, entitled and aggressive about their 'interest' in you, you'd have a different view.

Different people will have different reactions to this. It's not black and white. Context and intention (or perceived intention) are important too. I had a woman slap my ass in a bar once, and I did not like it. She was a stranger and it was presumptuous, rude, and violating my personal space. If I was in a relationship and my partner did that, then it wouldn't bother me because I know and trust the person and we will have an understanding.

Oh boy. 8O

Let's just say if I ever do find a Hunny, he better not do that to me in public no matter how long we've been going out.

Because your touching a private area without permission and entering their personal space. To be honest I'm sure men would be uncomfortable with it also. I would certainly be agree if a women touched my guys bum

It's not a compliment on the woman as a person but on her body as if it were an object.

I have had my bottom groped and it is awful. It made me feel really uncomfortable and dirty

My boyfriend however does it all the time because I give him permission and when it's him I like it.

That sounds (or smells  ) like a splendid idea!
(I'm going to have to practice with a lot of ice cream and milk and carbonated pop too! Anything not lactose free should do the trick. Oh yeah. )

With my luck, he'd probably like it. Lord help us.

Let me just say it probably matters what kind of slap he did. A small little playful tap is ok, but if he really lit one into me then it would be demeaning - like slapping a horses ass.

Exhibit A:

I would pinch men's behinds because they're cute.

If only I could make that massive font, because unfortunately many of my fellow males seem entirely blind to it. Almost as if they don't grasp that objectifying a person almost always is insulting even if it's intended to be complimentary and even if it's received in that way.

Then again, many guys tend to objectify themselves (internally, if not externally) quite a bit as well, and that would indicate that it's 'blindness' and not inherently misogyny that motivates the behaviour, even if the end result is misogynistic and demeaning.

You're kidding, right?

Putting a hand on someone is a non-verbal way of saying they're your property.
Women get offended because you're implying a connection that isn't there.
Not to mention groping women in public places smacks of sexual fetishism (pun intended).

Men find it flattering for the same reasons, I suppose.
Sexual objectification is a boost their ego which is unthreatening coming from a women.
I wonder how a heterosexual man would react if groped in the same manner by another man at a club?
Would it be welcomed?

I don't think I'd have a positive reaction if some stranger touched me or especially smacked me out of the blue, I'd be kind of be afraid of what my reflex to that would be since I think it could definitely put you in a fight or flight mode at least momentarily. Don't want to pull Afroman! 8O I imagine for a woman that's especially menacing since men are usually way bigger/stronger and their natural reaction probably isn't to deck the person.

This is probably a better analogy then telling heterosexual men to think about how they'd feel if a woman did it.
Also, even if they say in advance a woman doing it would be awesome, I'm willing to bet a lot of guys would feel a little bit more iffy about it after the fact.
