not sure if you could count my first 3 relationships successful to be honest, current long-distance one I would say is successful :)

Yes, several, including a marriage which lasted 8 years. Technically of course, one could say that since I'm not in one currently none of them were ULTIMATELY successful, but the criteria I use is whether the relationship was successful for a significant length of time, and if it made me happy.

Sopho, I once thought the same way you did, but once I made decided that I was going to at least TRY, I was surprised. (Please don't take this as patronizing) But I fear that your negative outlook could become a self-fulfilling prophesy.

No. Many of those who haven't will find someone. Sopho, I'm sure I could arrange to meet you but we probably wouldn't be compatible (or either of us would be scared off!). :D

define successful. I've had several long(er) term relationships...but they ended.

I feel that, so long as I am open about my complete and utter insanity, people are either understanding and relationships go well; or they're not, and they don't waste my time.

I've had several relationships, but wouldn't classify any of them as successful. They were all abusive and I was never happy.

Two relationships, were difficult for the time that they lasted (around a year each) and both ended quite horribly.

One tries to be optimistic, but I fear that singledom is going to form a significant part of my life.

All I can do is hope otherwise.

Never. The stinking world always conspires to ensure I can never be with those I love. Love is a waste of energy. I wouldn't bother again. Only ends in pain.

I am in a successful relationship right now.
We are pretty darn happy with eachother..but we have gone through lots of crap...possibly as a result of being too similar to each other.

I received my "relationship training" early though....I joined a band at 15 and spent 6 years with my guitar player who was quite a bit older than me....if it wasn't for that I am certain to have been struggling with relationships all this time...instead I am seldom NOT in a relationship...which I guess is both a good and bad thing depending on how you wanna look at it.

I really know how you feel soph. I think I may have just screwed up whatever chance I had with this guy because of my absent mindedness, thanks to good ol' AS. Though I do prefer texting or IM to talking on the phone, it's hard becuase I take everything so damn literal. so. now he probably thinks I'm some wierdo. These odds are pretty depressing. 57%, really?
