Does anyone here ever feel like when they are talking to someone attractive or on a date with someone that they get kind of argumentative and combative. For instance...if I'm talking to someone from online dating and they say something each my responses is a quick answer followed by a follow up question because I don't know how to respond otherwise. I treat the conversation like it is a bunch of yes or no questions. I end up realizing I get angry and frustrated at this person if the conversation doesn't go anywhere...BUT I know I shouldn't be feeing angry or frustrated if I like someone that just isn't normal.

Aghhh

Yes, it is a constant threatening really - in woman interviewing man fashion- especially the dates you get through online.

The typical attitude is usually: You are better to be a and b and....etc.... and have x and y and etc..... or else-
Respond 100% the way I expect ...or else-

Because dating sites are sausage fests with by far more active males on it than females, then females exert rigid slaughtering-filtering interviewing-like tactics to filter advances from males.

truthseeker, I understand this. It's best to practice as many conversations as you can, with just random people, in order to train for what you've just described. The "yes or no" mentality is close. I think what they are looking for is:

yes or no, plus validation of how cool their question was, and then a reciprocating question that queries for more of their coolness. Tough equation. Lt. Commander Data would have to work on it with that borg queen chick for like three days. But they would come to a decent subroutine for it. Thankfully, we surprisingly have it a little easier than the two of them. (They totally should have hooked up.)

Anyone feel free to add, or subtract to the idea I've presented here. Threatening is a great word for it - and they are probably feeling something similar.

Boo, dating sites are sausage fests? Please show me an example.

I've more found that dating sites are schizoid fests.

I think this possibly becuase you feel anxious, but it is totally counter productive to do this.

Dating can be tricky so you want them to feel comfortable not uncomfortable.
