Sometimes I've barely noticed it but that made me think, for all the times I've barely noticed it, there could be ten times when I didn't notice it at all. Do you think it could have happened to you?

Of course it's happened to me. Many times.

I'm only really good at discerning obvious flirting.

And I'm pretty obvious in my flirting, when I flirt.

I look for signs of flirting on trains, when I observe couples interacting with each other.

Honestly I wouldn't notice it or worse react negatively to it because my stupid brain reacts with irritation to such things rather than joy.

I had ought to do that.

I've got this friend who kept trying to convince me the way to go was "suggestive flirting". At first I was appalled at this and thought he must have some kind of mental block if he thought that stuff would work.

Back then I had this idea that women don't enjoy sex. Now I know that women do. For women their experience of sex can range from ten times more ecstasy than men can experience to flat and boring to very painful. I now know from that some women can be just as sexually frustrated as men and other women can view sex as a chore.

Maybe my friend wasn't so dumb. I'm not saying that stuff would work on strangers but in certain carefully understood circumstances it could make sense, taking into consideration that some women want it as much as men do.

I don't find that you can go too much wrong in kissing a woman's hand.

The more elegant ladies enjoy that sort of thing.

I probably wouldn't want to go out with a woman who didn't like me to kiss her hand. I would find her too political.

I like feminists--but I don't really like it when people get too political.

Maybe you're surrounded by high society ladies but we don't all live in New York

I got some news for you LOL

NONE of the women whose hands I've kissed come from "high society."

Some of them actually come from housing projects.

It's not the money, it's the person.

LOL.....I don't think of myself as really a crude person (though I can be too blunt at times).

I am nothing like that guy!

Can't stand pretentious rich people.

I've never been to the Hamptons, by the way, though I've been to the North Fork of Long Island (The Hamptons is located within the South Fork).

Ok lol, I'll stop trying to imply you're a snobbish billionaire. You're just old fashioned. Nothing wrong with that.

Absolutely! Apparently I get flirted with often. Emphasis on the 'apparently.' According to my boyfriend guys flirt with me all the time, sometimes right in front of him (we don't exactly act like a 'typical' couple, since I'm not a 'typical' girl, so people tend to assume we're friends). And he says it's hilarious to watch, because it looks like I'm just shooting them down right away by acting so clearly uninterested  Like, it's funny now because I'm already in a long term relationship so it's not like I'd be interested anyway... but I can't help but look back on all those times I used to feel sorry for myself because I thought no guys were into me... :?

And I once had the experience of accidentally ending up on a date with another girl... I was new in town and looking for friends, met this really cool girl who wanted to hang out. I knew she was bisexual, but didn't really put two and two together until I met her at her place and she acted surprised when I told her I was straight  Fortunately, we laughed off the misunderstanding, went out for drinks anyway, and stayed friends for a couple years so it turned out okay.

If they are, I wish they'd be more straightforward! I probably wouldn't catch on to it unless it was 100% obvious.

I know there are times I haven't noticed it at all, because people I'm with comment on it.

Maybe because I can't always tell whether someone is just being friendly, making fun of me or hitting on me. I usually just assume that they aren't because I don't want to seem too desperate.

Yeah, true. It would be embarrassing if you turned out to be wrong.

How did you commence a relationship with him without flirting?
