Your boyfriend/girlfriend tells you, "I need emotional space, and I can't be emotionally available to you right now." Someone was saying he could be cheating on me (!?!?!)

He could be cheating on you.
He could be having a rough time with something and not want to open up about it.
He could think you are becoming some sort of emotional "burden," and he just needs a break from it.
He could be using this as step 1 in breaking up with you, doing it slowly rather than abruptly.

There's a lot of possibilities.

well he is certainly hiding something, no-one talks like that in real life.
Maybe on TV, but that's bad dialogue.

sounds to me like he wants to dump you and is wussing out of it.
dump him first is the best solution :D

BTW asking for relationship advice on asperger forums is probably not the best move you could make.
Do you see why?

OboeJive, thank you for responding to my message.

you two have been dating 5 months and you're living with him.

Hmm........The way that I see it, is that he just needs some time to himself to figure things out.

Since I've nere met ere of you, that's the only speculative guess that I can hedge a bet on.

SO could be cheating.
SO is going through a rough time that SO doesn't want you involved in order to spare you.

SO is wanting to break up but doing it in very subtle ways.
