I'm assuming you guys have all read this story, about a guy with Asperger's who was dumped by his girlfriend a month after the two had a daughter. While's it's a touching story about a guy in a rough spot who overcomes every challenge in the book, a part of me is angry:

1) Shortly after …maybe a month… I found out that Hannah was leaving me for my then best friend … she was leaving Faith with me….. I give this guy all the credit in the world. To have your relationship fall apart like that and yet conquer all have AND deal with the struggles that come with Asperger's. Yes, this is inspirational porn, but an interesting story as well.

I guess what bugs me, and of course I don't know (nor will we ever know) the entire story, but something's fishy when you're significant other (regardless of gender) leaves you for a friend. No less a MONTH after you guys brought a child into the world. Almost makes me wonder if one of you wasn't ready to step up to the plate...

2) I remember the pregnancy … it was a bump…. just a bump on my then girlfriend’s body…. no more…. no less…. “cold” you’re probably thinking….. but as the saying goes… “if a tree falls in the forest does it make a sound?” …. you haven’t heard the sound. .. I didn’t see a baby…. truth is, I was more concerned about the changes in my safe routine than I was the soon to be new addition to my life ….. This counts as the big red flag, right? Now there's a side of me that wonders if a lack of affection drove his girlfriend away. A big life change can leave anyone emotionally paralyzed, but where's the support system in that case?

3) Over time it got easier… cause I took control… it went from being scary… to having a best friend… she’s always been a daddy’s girl… she’ll always be my princess… I learned how to do hair… dress her nicely… we go shopping together now!… she talks to me about her fears… what she likes… we have movie nights haha…

I may never be a perfect dad… but I try perfectly hard… and I love her truly with every fibre of my being and she loves me… Faith taught me of unconditional love.
Glad the story has at least a happy ending, but I'm still torn.

Any thoughts as to this story?
