We had been talking about marriage for a couple weeks, and I formally proposed to her Sunday. I first asked her out on April 7 of this year, so this has happened pretty quickly. We haven't set a date yet, but we're thinking sometime in the fall. To recap our relationship, I'm 28, and she's 56 -- yet we mesh together wonderfully. We met at our small church, which we had both been attending for almost 10 years, but we had never thought of each other in that way, until it just occurred to me one night (our church meets at sundown, and then goes out for dinner and coffee, late into the night) that she always had a smile on her face, and just seemed so full of joy and the love of Christ. Our religious beliefs are identical, which is rare to find even in a friend. We have lots of mutual friends, which is awesome. All my family and friends approve of her, which is quite stunning!
I'm just glad. (I'm an Aspie, so you'll have to take my word for it. )
