I was chating with a girl that day and she told me : " I am not choosy about guys maybe because i am not pretty ....pretty girls can be choosy."

And that made me think : is it true that pretty people are more likely to be choosy than no pretty people?

I think what she means is that pretty people can afford to be choosy, because more people are attracted to them so they have more people to pick from.

I guess that is true then.

People tend to go for people they think are about as attractive as they are.
I am choosy, but not about looks, though I would still have to be attracted to them.
Personality is the main thing, nobody is attractive forever.

I am not choosy at all. I'll pretty much date any girl who shows interest in me. Then again, I have no right to be choosy, since my face is very ugly, and my body isn't in great shape either. After some futile attempts to date attractive girls while in my early teens, I learned who I can and can't be with.

pretty girls can get away with being choosy, so they have an incentive to be choosy.

I tend to be more choosy when it comes to personality myself, as I would rather have someone who could make me laugh and treat me well than be with a pretty boy who was a complete bore and had no idea how to treat me.

Same here, except I'm a man. I'm very choosy in personality instead of looks. If a girl has a wonderful personality, then they are pretty in my eyes. The only unfortunate thing is that I don't know how to reciprocate love to someone. I just get so nervous!

This is surely the only really sensible policy - looks don't last and they're not enough for real happiness I don't think.

Well I am only average looking, and I am very choosy. But not in the way lots of people are...Looks are 100% irrelevant, for example. I have other standards and criteria.

I moved 3 things on my criteria from 'necessary' to 'would be nice' today.

I am pretty much looking for an opposite-sex version of myself.

I don't think so. As I've said before,
I've seen lots of examples of what
seem like total mismatches. I suspect
that most people are somewhat choosy,
and it seems that those with AS may
be MORE choosy than NAS's. I know that
I effectively am pretty damned picky.
