How do you talk to girls on an online forum or send her a PM? Not necessarily to meet in person eventually (but that is still appreciated), but it would sound nice. I'm kind of a forum junkie, I guess.

Are you asking permission?

You talk to girls on online forums as though they are people.
Because they are people.

Try not to flirt outrageously like Kraftie.
Just be interested and ask questions or comment on their posts, as you would do with anyone.
Don't you do that anyway?
If they seem to respond favourably, send a PM.
Start with, "Hope you don't mind me PMing you"...

If they bite, they bite.

Yeah, just send them a message like you would anyone else. In my experience fewer than half actually get back, but it's worth a try...

No, don't.

Don't send them anything.

Something ugly happened on several past occurrences with me and other male members when PMing a female member (ask TheSpectrum, he can tell you what happened to him once), the typical scenario goes like that (Note that the PM has NO flirting/sexual or any offensive language at all in these scenarios):

- Male PMs a female member, either just to say hello or to PM a private comment (usually side-topic or off-topic) on a thread they were both participating.
- The female responds that she doesn't appreciate unsolicited PMs OR
- The female ignores or responds then she posts to bring it up as a reply on the related thread something like "I would appreciate if you stop PM! Boohoo stop it" (even though it was just 1 PM from him); you know in order to dramatize things or to boast about herself AND to paint a ugly reputation on the male as a Online women-harasser.

So don't initiate PM with them, I've only initiated PMs with very very very few female members whom I was sure they were completely safe and won't be jerks about it, for instance hurtloam, Chronos and nurseangela; or I rely to a PM.

For example, in TheSpectrum's case, I thought at first his PM may have contained something offensive, when I asked him and showed me a screenshot of it, it turned out to be nothing of the sort, it was a simple conversation about life and cars.

I am convinced that it's not worth it.

I tend to message people I share common views with on discussion forums normally including some dead pan wit about a recent topic we were in. Try that!
